The fall of the Empire

I am not talking about the history. I am going to say about the issue that will be history hereafter. Yes indeed am saying about the Australian Cricket only.

Punter and his men literally invaded each and every cricket playing nation in the world and destroyed its opposition of any caliber. His bowling soldiers Shane Warne and McGrath retired after a serving hard for the Australian cricket army.

Punter’s bating knights Hayden, Gilchrist and Langer too joined the bowlers for retirement. As Australia started getting older and older, its winning charm and invincibility faded very much.  Poor Ricky Ponting is trying hard to make up with the calves that have entered the bull fight arena.

They are factually being crushed to defeat by teams with high caliber. It is needless and deliberate that Australian cricket tastes its own blood now out of frustration and humility.

Let’s perceive how long the fiasco continues to haunt the Australian team.

Ivory banned by e-bay

The internet trading giant e-bay has expelled the auction of all ivory goods from its network. Many people accuse e-bay that it is acting as a open black market for trading ivory.

The elephant tusks are obtained by slaying them without mercy for ivory. This ban also includes all types of ivory even jewels. But there are pianos and furniture made of ivory which were completed before 1900 will be allowed to trade on the website.

Since online trading has become extensive and safe, ivory buyers and sellers prefer to trade online. Though many ivory products are sold online, 65% of the products have been sold through e-bay alone.

The UK and USA are the greats in the trade and almost seventy of the market share went to US which is nearly ten times of UK which is the second largest next to USA.

It is a fact that every year around 20,000 tuskers are being massacred for their ivory tusks even though there has a global ban in ivory trading. But it is the duty of a global citizen to oppose trading of ivory and save elephants from getting slaughtered.

I very much appreciate e-bay’s act and consider this as a great leap towards preventing trade of ivory by poachers and agents.

Alcohol Mess

A beer is better than a woman, but if it crosses the limit it becomes more dangerous than her.  It is always fun to see a man completely drunk and watch his funny and stupid activities.  I have seen many people behaving odd after drinking. I have seen my neighbor behaving laughably many times when he is on a high.

But there are cases where people turn vicious and belligerent.  I always wondered why they behave like this. But researchers from Finland have come up with the reason why drunkards turn violent. It is said that heavy drinker run out of glycogen which reduces their oxidative metabolism which may make them behave aggressive.

The study was carried out on many individuals who are heavy drinkers and their glucose metabolism was closely monitored. They say people with low glycogen levels may get over hyped and lose control of their cool and force themselves to be violent.

But they have also come across a solution too. The eating habits of people while drinking may provide significant results and prevents them from being arrogant.  But it is always said that decent drinkers are the best drinkers.
